Seven day-aweek Church

Group Meeting

This group meet in St Mary’s Church Hall on alternate Tuesdays
for Bible study and, as you see, coffee and biscuits.

There has been much talk recently about the Parish Church closing. Well he building will close in June, but the ‘church’ will
definitely still be openfor business!

Most people’s experience of our churches comes through the Sunday services. Despite a downward trend nationally, Sunday worship is still very popular here, with an average of 175 adults and 33 children gathering in our three churches every Sunday.*

During the week, however, the church family continues to meet for Bible study, worship and just good fun. There’s the hugely
popular Monday Club at Trevenson, two Bible Study groups in church halls and four Home Groups. At the Parish Church there is also the Women’s Fellowship and the weekly Friday Teas, both of which will relocate during the building work.

The Cornish got it right!

When we talk of ‘church’ it’s easy to get confused. Most obviously it refers to church buildings, but the Cornish word is , which
eglos which comes in turn from a Greek word meaning ‘the called out ones’ – the people, not the building. And that church of people, called out by God to live and work for him, will continue to flourish – and hopefully grow – while our largest building
remains closed.
