Cream Teas and Bric-a-Brac
An unusual combination, perhaps, but they certainly drew crowds to the
Parish Church on Saturday 19th June.
In the Parish Room the best
Cornish Cream Teas money can
buy were on sale, and if that left
you hungry there were diet-wrecking
cakes to fill you up
.
Then there was the bric-a-brac
sale, overflowing into the church,
with everything from cuddly toys
to pepper pots, and taking in
books, toys and lovely glassware
on the way.
Before anyone got to the front
door of the church they had to
pass Thelma on the South gate
and she did a roaring trade in
children’s toys.
In just two hours £480 was raised
for the Roof Fund. So thankyou, all
of you who worked,so hard on the
day, and everyone who came to
support us. Now there’s only another £109,520 to raise for the new roof.
