Trevenson window restoration is complete at last!
Trevenson Church’s draughty, decaying windows have
now all been replaced with modern reproductions.

The new windows are faithful copies of the originals, down to the tiniest detail. For instance, an earlier craftsman must have been
unable to match the original yellow glass when carrying out a repair, so used red. Look at the Top photo and see that even
this ‘mistake’ has been reproduced.
The final piece to be restored was the old Rose Window, which must have been boarded up for the best part of 200 years, after it was damaged during construction of the tower. The original glass with the cherubs has been incorporated in the new window.
One amusing consequence of this work was that fresh air no longer circulated through the broken and cracked panes, so
ventilation slots had to be incorporated to counter the build-up of mould on the church walls.
We are very grateful to Heritage Stained Glass of Kingskerswell for their superb craftsmanship and dedicated hard work over
several years.
