Bishop Tim commissions Pioneer Ministers

On Sunday 7th February
Bishop Tim (the Bishop of Truro) conducted service at St Illogan Parish Church at which Ben and Sophie Casey were commissioned as Pioneer Ministers in the Parish. Several other members were given certificates, authorizing them to serve Holy Communion
Ben and Sophie Casey are believed to be the first Pioneer Ministers in Truro Diocese. In a special Parish Service in St Illogan Church, in which the ministry of the whole People of God was celebrated, Ben and Sophie were commissioned to pioneer new ways of relating the Gospel to people who do not regularly attend church. They have already helped to start two Cafe Church projects - one in Portreath and the other in Pool.
