Poldice Tramway Bicentenary celebrations

200 years ago the Railway Age came to Cornwall with the opening of the Poldice Tramway, linking the copper mines of Poldice to Lord de Dunstanville's harbour in Portreath.

Villagers, many in period costume, turned out in force on Saturday 1st August to celebrate the bicentenery.  Mike Kippax, Rector of the parish, was called upon to 'bless' a reproduction waggon that had been made by pupils of Pool Business and Enterprise College.
