The time has come to Raise the Roof!

As well as crumbling slates, we have crumbling plaster. From time to time over the years, chunks of plaster have fallen to the floor during services, endangering members of our congregation. Thankfully, regular maintenance of the roof seems to have minimized the problem in the nave for the time being.
However, over the past year, two large sections of plaster have fallen in the chancel, signalling particular problems with that section of the roof; hence the need for safety netting.

Our architect has prepared a specification for the new roof and several local firms have been invited to tender for the work. Soon we will know the cost, but it is likely to be well in excess of £100,000 – that’s a lot of money!
The Bishop of Truro is coming to launch our Roof Fund Appeal on May 19th, when a great Fun Day is being planned. Do come along if you can, join in the fun, and help us to Raise the Roof!
